Groundation 10th Annual Bob Marley Tribute Tour

I had heard of Groundation a few years ago, but not until I enrolled in college last year did I realize just what kind of following these guys have, especially on the west coast. A scene that some would argue was spearheaded by Sublime over 15 years ago and has since been upheld by bands such as Slightly Stoopid and SOJA has really taken off over the past few years. White-boy reggae has proved to be just as catchy, especially among the college-aged, party animal youth. It doesn't take a genius to realize the tremendous impact that Bob Marley's music has had on the same demographic, so it is only appropriate to think that Groundation doing Marley's music is a spectacular concoction. This winter, Groundation will embark on their 10th annual Bob Marley tribute tour. While the nine-piece collective is by no means hard on original material, they set aside a short tour every year to celebrate Marley's extremely influential catalog of music. If you anticipate hearing only a greatest hits set, think again. This traditional tour is meant to bring to life many of Bob Marley's deeper cuts that may not have been on regular rotation in his heyday. If you are a fan of either party involved, catch a date of Groundation's 2010 Bob Marley tribute tour.
